Broome to Kununurra via the Gibb River Road

Friday 24th June 2011: Travelling over 5 days with Australian Adventure Safari Tours. Four other couples and a tour guide we left Broome to travel the wilderness of the Gibb River Road. Rough roads, sleeping in tents (which we erected each afternoon and dismantled every morning and cooking on an open fire was quite an adventure but the amazing gorges, waterfalls, springs, walk through Tunnel Creek (through water with torch light) was an experience one had to conquer because one was there! We experienced great walks, some easy others challenging. Windjana Gorge beautiful, Emma Gorge difficult across rocky water beds and climbing large bolders. Swimming in the pristine clear waters at Galvin Gorge and taking a dip at Zebedee Springs in the El Questro Wilderness park. Parry's Lagoon(a beautiful Billabong) late in the day delighted with the sights and sounds of millions of birds, ducks, waterlillies, and dragonflies.
